Our Chapel Choir performed a sparkling Christmas Concert in the ancient St. Nicholas Chapel at Haddon Hall on Tuesday, as the guests of Lord and Lady Edward Manners. It could not have been more atmospheric, with period decorations, candlelight and harp accompaniment drifting through the frosty air within the frescoed walls, and the choir sang beautifully.
Accompanied by the harp, the choir sung a mixture of traditional Christmas Carols and Christmas Choral pieces. There was also a beautiful duet between Year 7 harpist, Georgie and professional Mezzo Soprano Nicola Hunt. Head Chorister, Emelia also sung Benjamin Britten’s challenging ‘Corpus Christi’ accompanied by the renowned harpist, Elinor Nicholson.
Undoubtedly, it was occasion that our choristers and audience will remember for a very long time. Our sincere thanks to Lord and Lady Manners.
