From the M1 Motorway
Leave the M1 at Junction 29. At the roundabout at the end of the slip road, take the A617 dual carriageway, signposted to Chesterfield and Chatsworth.
At the end of the dual carriageway, enter the large roundabout (with central metal sculpture) and take the second exit (A617).
From here, follow signs for the A619 to Bakewell (the brown tourist board signs for Chatsworth are also helpful to follow). Staying on the A619 you will leave Chesterfield and enter open countryside for approximately 5 miles, dropping down into Baslow.
Continue on the A619 through Baslow, following signs for Bakewell.
Once in Bakewell, cross the medieval Bridge into the town centre. At the roundabout (Rutland Square, with the Rutland Arms Hotel ahead), take the second exit onto North Church Street (A6). Then turn immediately left into North Church Street, to proceed up the hill with the church to the left. Follow the road round as it bends to the right and then left, where it becomes Stanedge Road.
S. Anselm’s is on the right, just before you reach open countryside.
