Our Nursery and Pre-Prep children were excited to welcome Mr James McKay, who is a zoologist and Director of the National Falconry School in Ashover. He is famed for training the birds used in the Harry Potter films and is passionate about promoting conservation by teaching people all about these wonderful creatures.

Mr McKay brought an array of owls to show the children, from the much loved barn owl to the gigantic Verreaux’s eagle owl. Everyone was fascinated to explore interesting facts such as why we must never touch an owl’s feathers, why owls have to move their heads to see around them and the various features which enable an owl to conceal themselves.

A big thank you to Mr McKay for treating us to such an enthralling morning.
