Drama & Productions
Drama plays an important role in life at S. Anselm’s in terms of both the wonderful productions we stage and in developing confident, eloquent and creative children.
The first rate facilities of the Hargreaves Hall enable children of all age groups to display their talent in our major productions as well as in regular assembly productions. Whether performing in musicals or straight dramas, working back-stage or operating lights, pupils have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of production during their time at S. Anselm’s.
Our major productions always create a real buzz throughout the school, as do our Pre-Prep and Nursery Nativity productions which are central to our Christmas celebrations.
All children in Years 4, 6 and 8 work towards the English Speaking Board exams, inspiring confidence and increased self-esteem through developing clear and effective interactive speaking and listening skills.
Pupils also have the opportunity to advance their acting, speaking and listening skills by taking up the opportunity to get involved with LAMDA lessons in which they work towards graded exams in ‘Communication, Speaking Verse & Prose’.
Drama at S. Anselm’s provides the perfect opportunity for pupils to have some fun, express themselves and explore their own, and each other’s creativity.
