On Monday 21st June, Years 1 and 2 enjoyed an interesting trip in historic Bakewell.  The children started by walking down Stanedge Road to All-Saint’s church, to learn about the medieval coffins, Saxon stones and beautiful font.

They continued just around the corner, to the historic Old House Museum, where everyone was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and given tours of the Tudor House in three groups, focusing on playground games from the past (hopscotch and 9 pins), the school room and history of the house itself.

It was a fascinating morning, and the children had lots of fun while learning about the past.
