The pupils in Year 6 have enjoyed an exciting project on ‘Extreme Earth’, learning all about the earth’s structure, tectonic plate movement, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and tsunamis. In pairs, they chose one major tectonic feature to study in depth and created a model and information board about it. This morning, they invited pupils from Years 4 and 5, to a presentation in the school library, and were able to confidently explain why and what happens, where and how it occurs and what the impact can be.
On Friday the Year 6 children are very much looking forward to re-enacting a few volcanic eruptions of their own, involving a range of different methods!
