What a treat! We invited S. Anselm’s grandparents for an afternoon tea and they were a delight to host.

After a warm welcome from Mrs Donnelly, the music started. The Junior Choir sang ‘Life is a Wonderful Thing’ and this was followed with Chapel Choir performing ‘The Lord is My Shepherd’ and ‘Fly Me to the Moon’.

Next each tables was served an exquisite afternoon tea: an array of finger sandwiches, small cakes and pastries and a vats of tea and coffee were also shared, with an occasional dry sherry! To round off the afternoon a number of soloists performed, including Nancy DW playing on the piano ‘De Valse’, Darren Y ‘Chanson Triste’ on violin and Elspeth ‘Minnelied’ on piano, before the Girls Close Harmony group beautifully sang Christina Perri’s ‘Thousand Years’.

Finally, all the participants were treated to a slice of celebration cake to take home, a special addition from our Catering Team, which drew comparison to the sweet course at a well known establishment in Mayfair.
