Congratulations to all our School Houses for their enormous fund raising efforts at the Christmas Fair last week. The totals raised for each of their charities are as follows:Churchills’ pupils decided upon their own range of goodies to sell on their charity stall. Thank you to all of the children who generously provided so many items. A special thank you to Celia for providing a lovely bear to name and chocolates to win – and congratulations to Bruno for choosing the correc…t name: Rusty! Thank you also to all of the Churchills’ families who have enthusiastically bought our tea towel this term and helped us to raise such a fantastic total of £473.65 for Edale Mountain Rescue Team.
Pitts House had been busy for many weeks knitting, sewing, crocheting and baking a whole host of wonderful things to sell. Their theme for this year was ‘Animals’ and ‘Christmas’ which allowed everyone to get their creative juices flowing! The stall really did look amazing so thank you to all the pupils, teachers, parents and grandparents who made it such a huge success. Our House Captain, Annabelle, was fantastic throughout the whole afternoon and it was great to see all the volunteers taking turns to work behind the stall. Our talented saxophonist, Will H, busked outside the sports hall and collected over £20 to add to our impressive total of £372.59 for Pet Samaritans.
Henry and Harvey certainly made a huge impact on the Wellies stall where there were games to play, delicious cakes to buy, Christmas decorations to make and a fabulous lucky dip! The total raised from the stall and the lucky dip was an impressive £224.20 for the British Heart Foundation.
It was really pleasing to see so many Nelsons pupils offering to work on the stall. A big thank you to all pupils who helped. The Green Tombola and Luck Dip were very successful as were the incredible homemade decorations, chocolates and sweet offerings on sale. Much admired was the entrepreneurial skill of Year 7s and 8s who travelled the hall selling Nelsons goodies. As ever, the success of the stall owes itself to the efforts and generosity of parents to provide the items to sell. This is very much appreciated. Nelsons raised a £73.82 for the Marine Conservation Society .
The Year 5 Victorian Christmas Market managed to raise £110.20! The Year 5 pupils and teachers agreed for the total amount to be shared between the four houses.
This makes the grand totals …
