On Thursday 11th March, our Junior Forms enjoyed their first assembly together to celebrate all of the work they have completed during remote learning.  Year 5 provided an outline of their work on World War 11, Year 4 showed lots of objects they had been making based around their topic on Vikings and Year 3 delighted in telling everyone about the Aztecs … and how they discovered CHOCOLATE!

It really was a ‘celebration’ of everything our Junior years children have recently achieved and it was wonderful to see so many pupils receiving Bronze, Silver or Gold Reading Awards.  Times Tables Rock Stars has been a fabulous introduction during remote learning with pupils competing in different ‘venues’ as well as challenging each other to a rock star battle!

Rita played the piano beautifully and it was clear to see that she has been practising hard over these last few months.

The final part of the assembly saw our Year 3 pupils finding out who the winners were of the Persuasive Writing Competition.  Mr Mace was very impressed with all of TV adverts the children had created to ‘persuade’ people to buy their brand new chocolate bars.  Congratulations to Alice, Constantine and Rita, who were awarded Bronze, Silver and Gold prizes.
