Practice for House Points Challenge
The New Year is a great time to set new targets and what better opportunity than the present to step up on our instrumental or vocal practice? All our specialist music teachers should have been in touch with their pupils to organise online lessons, and to fire everyone’s motivation, we are launching a lockdown practice challenge.
We’d like all our musicians to complete a weekly practice record sheet (click here to download), to record and verify the minutes of genuine, focused practice they complete.
40 minutes of genuine, valid practice earns 1 House Point.
Please email your weekly total to Mr Percival by 5.00pm each a Friday for submission.
We typically recommend a minimum of 20 minutes’ practice per instrument, at least four times a week
Tip 1: for week commencing Monday 11th January
Tip 2: for week commencing Monday 18th January
To give a real sense of purpose to all the practice our musicians will be doing, once they have perfected a piece, we are inviting them to video themselves performing it and submit their video by email to Mr Percival.
Two or three performances each week will be selected to feature in a short weekly film, to be published our our new Star Performers page (here in the website parents’ portal). Musicality, accuracy, good performance etiquette including personal composure and a clear introduction to the piece will all help in the selection of our weekly star performers.
We look forward to sharing in some enjoyable music making!
