It’s tree planting season, and last week, our Pre-Prep children collected their Jubilee saplings from school and took them home to plant over the weekend. The saplings were kindly supplied by The Woodland Trust as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) tree planting initiative to mark the Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
It certainly looks like everyone enjoyed digging, planting and watering their young trees, and we hope they will flourish as a long-lasting commemoration of the Her Majesty’s Jubilee next year and important contributors to a green legacy, with increasing networks of individual trees, avenues, copses and whole woodlands being planted across the country.
“We’re all for S. Anselm’s encouraging our children to help their home environment to be more green! Learning and teaching about ways to boost native wildlife species is so important to us. Thank you Pre-Prep and the Woodland Trust. #LoveThisInitiative #Getthelittleonesinvolved” Mrs Kern-Lowe
More saplings have just arrived in school and S. Anselm’s will certainly do our very best to support this green legacy project and play our part in hopefully bringing real benefits to people, wildlife and climate, now and for the future.
