After the visit by poet Peter Sansom to our Junior Prep School Forms on National Poetry Day, Megan in Year 3 composed a beautifully descriptive poem entitled “My House”. After hearing her poem, pupils in the Junior Forms English Club decided to try penning their very own poems about our very own Secret Garden, within the S. Anselm’s grounds.
The children used all their senses to inspire some wonderful poetry about what they could see, hear, feel and smell in the garden.
The club ended with each pupil reading their poems out to the group.
It was such a calming and peaceful way to spend Friday lunchtime!
