Reception spend a week outdoors

by Claire Delahaye | Nov 12, 2018 | Pre-Prep News

The children in Reception dashed into school at the start of their outdoor week, armed with waterproofs and enthusiasm for the adventures ahead.
Scooping and mixing cement was a tricky task but perseverance paid off and the children all made a beautiful stone to place in the garden. We received a special delivery on Tuesday and team work was essential in moving tyres safely into place. These have since been used as seating, for an assault course, as a camp fire and a secret spot to hide special leaves and stones.
Later in the week the rain came and with it an opportunity to make nature soup, the children were challenged to make a soup with clear liquid and five different natural materials.
As the end of the week came, so did the wind! We listened to the sounds in our garden before making delicate wind chimes to hang in the willow and trees. Everybody went home on Friday feeling very proud of their beautiful garden even if a little tired!
