On Saturday, four S. Anselm’s pupils competed at Beaver Hall, Leek, in the Grassroots NSEA show jumping competition.
First to compete was Aminta on Ellie May in the 40cm, jumping with great confidence to take second place and qualify for the Regional Final. Aminta than took first prize in the 45cm, a great achievement as was her first ever competition on a new pony. Next, was Ian on Mountain Sandstorm in the 50cm, coming in third position.
The S. Anselm’s Team came second in the 60cm with Daisy flying around on Miss Sky into first place individually, with Arabella on Jazz taking 2nd; Ian was out of the ribbons but gave an amazing performance in his first ever 60cm competition and helped the team to qualify for the Regional Final in December. Many congratulations to each of our riders.
Unfortunate poles down in the 70cm speed section for both Daisy and Arabella meant they were out of the ribbons, but both rode with great confidence and learned from the experience.
The Regional Final takes place on 11th December, at Bishop Burton.
