Students from S. Anselm’s College are celebrating today after receiving an impressive set of well-earned GCSE results. With a pass rate of over 89%, our confident and able students face a world of possibilities as they embark on the next chapter of their education or career.

This year, we are blown away with the number of top grades achieved, with over 24% of all subjects resulting in a Level 8 or 9, 39% scoring Level 7 or higher and 60% scoring a Level 6 or higher. Well done Year 11!

One pupil has achieved twelve GCSEs, eleven of which are at grade 8 (A*) or higher and another pupil has achieved eleven GCSEs, ten of which are grade 7 (A) or higher. Our pupils are looking forward to starting their next steps, with destinations including Birkdale, St. Mary’s Chesterfield, Oakham and Buxton College.

Acting Head, Lisa Donnelly said,

“I am so proud of how hard our pupils have worked for their success this year. We are now in our second year of GCSE results at the College and I am delighted that we are going from strength to strength by encouraging our pupils to be the very best they can be. “

“S. Anselm’s prides itself on being inclusive and non-selective and for some of our pupils to achieve this level of success is a testament to the teaching and level of support they have received. This, coupled with our rich activity programme, has meant that all of our year 11 cohort are prepared and confident to embrace the next stage in their lives, be that educational or in the workplace.”

The College welcomes students between Years 9-11 and offers exemplary teaching in a wide range of GCSEs including humanities, textiles, languages, art and STEM subjects. Extra-curricular activities are also available, including the Duke of Edinburgh Award and a variety of residential trips to develop learning as well as encouraging social skills and independence.
