Our Year 3 to 6 pupils in STEM Club have thoroughly enjoyed their latest Crest Superstar task, ‘Journey Stick’.  The task is based on an Australian Aboriginal activity in which Aborigines collect objects on long journeys to help them remember events and experiences, so they can tell others of their adventures.  The Crest awards are part of the British Science Association’s scheme for STEM project work inspiring young people to think and behave like scientists and engineers.
Pupils walked around the school grounds collecting an array of objects to help them tell their own story.  For example, a fallen leaf (signifying Autumn), a small piece of plastic (residue from fireworks on bonfire night), and a pheasant’s feather (one of our local inhabitants).
We are very much looking forward to hearing their stories!
