Congratulations to our Under 13A netball team who played against the ‘best of the rest’ last week at the ISA National Netball Finals at Rugby School.

Over 120 schools originally entered this competition, playing in the regional rounds, with the top 24 schools progressing to last week’s finals.  Our S. Anselm’s girls had a good morning, qualifying for  the Cup competition (the highest tier) in the afternoon, for the top eight schools overall. Kew House School, (an independent secondary school with 600 students) prevented us from reaching the finals by a mere goal, with us coming back from being 1 – 4 down at half time, to a 7 – 8 loss at full time.  The girls thoroughly enjoyed the experience and did S. Anselm’s proud, with our semi-final results being the closest compared to the other three games, putting us overall in 5th place.  Not bad for a small Prep School!

Well played everyone and thanks to Mrs B and Mrs Schaper for managing the team at both the Regional and National tournaments and a special thank you to our amazing supporters who travelled such a long way to support the girls!
