Last weekend our full time boarders visited Cromford Mill and the Cromford Canal, near Matlock Bath. As well as being a World Heritage site, much of the area along the canal is a nature reserve, rich in wildlife.
It was a very misty, overcast day, but nevertheless perfect for feeding the always appreciative ducks, after a gentle stroll along the lovely canal tow path. There was just time for our boarders to spend their pocket money on a hot drink and snack, before they chose their own lunch from the well-known take away outlet situated under the golden arch.
On returning to school, the children spent a leisurely afternoon Christmas craft making, whilst watching a suitably festive film; before enjoying some free time and tucking into a delicious roast beef dinner.
