Monday 25th November, 5.15pm
On Monday 25th November we warmly welcome parents and families to the S. Anselm’s School Michaelmas Concert which will be taking place in the Hargreaves Hall at 5:15pm.
The concert will include performances from the Chapel Choir, Junior Choir (comprising all children Years 3 to 5), Swing Band, Brass Band, String Group, Djembe Group, Wind Band, Guitar Ensemble, Boys’ a Capella, Girls Close Harmony Group and the Ukulele Group.
We very much look forward to this wonderful celebration of music and musicians who have been rehearsing hard throughout the Michaelmas Term.
Tuesday 26th November, 5.15pm
The College Concert will now take place on Tuesday 26th November due to the Berlin trip. All are welcome to attend to hear our flourishing College Rock Band, Swing Band, Choir, Strings Group and soloists who have been rehearsing hard to put on an enjoyable evening. Refreshments and mince pies will be served in the library from 4.50pm.
Some of our pupils and staff have recently started a qualification called the Duke of York Inspiring Digital Enterprise Award, known as iDEA. It is an international programme that helps you develop digital, enterprise and employability skills for free.
Through a series of online challenges, you can win career-enhancing badges, unlock new opportunities and, ultimately, gain industry-recognised Awards that help you stand out from the crowd.
We would like also like to make parents and staff at S. Anselm’s aware of this opportunity so that we can all improve our digital skills. It is also an excellent opportunity to showcase to our pupils that learning is not just something that happens at school.
The link below will take you to the website: https://idea.org.uk/ Once you have signed up, please click on your profile picture and click ‘edit profile’. Then scroll down on the page and add in the organiser code: SA1888.
This process enables the school to order certificates in your name and is a step towards the school gaining iDEA Pioneer Status.
Thank you and good luck

Plant a Tree Morning
Join us to plant 1,000 trees on Wednesday 27th November
Pre-Prep and Nursery parents are warmly invited to support our Pre-Prep ‘Plant a Tree Morning’ next week by getting their hands dirty and helping us as we work together – adults and children alike – to plant almost one thousand trees within the school grounds.
The trees have been kindly donated by the TCV and OV Energy and many of the trees and hedgerows will be planted within and surrounding the Forest Fun area, which is an ongoing project for Pre-Prep staff and children. The aim is to make a significant positive impact to the environment and our local wildlife.
Pre-Prep children and staff will be planting throughout the whole morning, but would welcome as many volunteers to help them as possible. There are two different time slots for volunteering: 9.00am to 10.00am and 10.30am to 11.30am, however, should anyone like to volunteer for the whole morning their services would be very welcome!
Refreshments will be available in the library after drop off at 8.25am, and a member of staff will come to collect volunteers once the children are ready. Hot drinks will then be available again between 10.00am and 10.30am for a quick warm up!
Please sign up using the ‘sign up’ sheet outside your child’s classroom. It is important that we have the names of volunteers beforehand for safeguarding and to ensure we have enough hot drinks. Do bring any useful gardening tools, such as gloves and spades, as school only has a limited amount of trowels.
Everyone is so excited and looks forward to seeing you!
