Year 3 were delighted to welcome Janet Brady, author and illustrator of the recently published book ‘Woolly’s Song’, to their classroom on Friday, after their recent visit to Wirksworth. In her book, Janet brings the Dream cave woolly rhinoceros to life.
Janet provided a wonderful workshop and told everyone all about the woolly rhino that was discovered in Wirksworth by lead miners in 1822. The children were totally inspired by Janet’s visit and even had the opportunity to hold a real woolly rhino leg bone!
Janet completed a book signing too and commented on how impressed she was with the enthusiasm that our pupils demonstrated.
