The Year 6 pupils travelled to Bosworth on Thursday 29th September to learn more about the beginning of the Tudor period. In particular, Richard III’s defeat in 1485, at the hands of  Henry Tudor, commenced the reign of the Tudor family for the next 118 years.

The pupils undertook three activities: a guided walk of the battlefield with a re-enactment of the battle, a visit to the Heritage Centre museum and a terrific talk and demonstration from John the Archer. The pupils were particularly interested to look at and learn about the armour and weaponry of the time and enjoyed reenacting the march of the armies as they approached Bosworth Fields.

The children were great company and were complimented by the staff at the centre for their excellent listening skills!
