After they finished their exams, our scholars, Freddie, James and Rufus, were given some extra-curricular challenges to work on skills that are more difficult to cover in regular classroom teaching.

They had to organise and edit the school newspaper; they created a new sport called “Wall Ball” and were tasked with designing and building a game for the Horticultural Show.

They created the ‘Rocket League Arena’ shown in these pictures. The arena is based on a computer game of the same name and pupils had to control small sphere-shaped robots to push the larger ball into the other player’s goal.  The arena construction took many hours and involved lots of careful measuring, sawing, and drilling as well as applying the mod rock to create the curved walls.

The final product was a very successful addition to Nelson’s stall at the Horticultural Day. Well done boys!
