In a real-life David vs Goliath occasion Wellingtons have won the Boys and Girls Football House Matches after overcoming Pitts, who didn’t lose a game on their way to the final!

Wellingtons who went into the mid tournament break bottom of the table, qualified for the finals after a heroic second half of the tournament.  They met Pitts in the final who had topped the league all afternoon. Wellingtons took the lead and managed to take it to 2-1 with 15 seconds on the clock then Lawrence scored a last second equalizer taking his team to a penalty shoot-out.  The penalty shootout went to sudden death and despite an effort being disallowed for not crossing the line Wellingtons won the tournament after Christian’s heroic efforts.

There were two Players of the Tournament – Cleo and Zavi.

Churchills who were outnumbered in their matches, meaning every player had to play every minute of every game made a break through and beat eventual winners Wellingtons in the group stage!

Nelsons did their best but couldn’t score in several of their matches!

A great afternoon of football. Well done everyone!
