Our boarding community enjoyed a truly memorable Burns Night celebration, bringing Scottish tradition to life with music, poetry and plenty of enthusiasm.
The evening began with the unmistakable sound of the bagpipes as Kal, our guest piper, led a lively procession through the boarding house and into the dining room.
In true Burns Night tradition, the Address to a Haggis was performed – this year by our talented Year 8 pupils. They not only recited the original words of Robert Burns but also shared a translation, allowing everyone to appreciate the humour and theatrical warnings woven into the poem. A hearty Scottish feast followed, complete with haggis, neeps and tatties.
The celebrations continued with an energetic ceilidh, accompanied by live music. The atmosphere was electric, and there were plenty of impressive (and entertaining!) dance moves on display as pupils and staff alike threw themselves into the fun.
It was a joyful, spirited celebration of Scottish culture, full of community, laughter and tradition. A huge thank you to everyone who made the evening so special.
