Caroline Hamilton

Caroline has 25 years experience in corporate communications, with a background in public relations, crisis communications management, media and copy writing. Today she runs her own communications consultancy, supporting a range of corporate and public sector clients on communication strategy and management.

Caroline lectures at the Business Management School at the University of Sheffield and is a current board member for the Sheffield Business Improvement District (BID). She has previously held board positions at the Sheffield Strong Economy Board and Sheffield Business Leaders Forum and is a former trustee for the charities Roundabout and Helen’s Trust.

Caroline owned and managed PR agency MK between 2008 and 2019, overseeing teams across Yorkshire implementing and delivering campaigns for international, national and regional brands to include Harvey Nichols, Meadowhall Shopping Centre, School Trusts, Urban Splash, Sheffield Children’s Hospital Trust, Irwin Mitchell LLP and South Yorkshire Police. The agency was bought by the then Northern Communications Group in 2019.  

Following her degree and a diploma in PR / journalism, Caroline worked at  Weber Shandwick PR in London before taking up a governmental position and then moving to Tesco plc as UK Communications Manager. Her move to international PR agency Hill & Knowlton in 2006 saw her lead on UK and European PR strategies for Sainsburys and B&Q.

Caroline is married with two children and lives in north east Derbyshire. She has a politics degree from Royal Holloway, University of London.
